Stairs are made to the site, not from a catalogue
With stairs every centimetre counts: floor height, opening length, headroom, rise and going. So we always measure on site before drawing. Catalogue stairs rarely fit exactly — and stairs that almost fit are uncomfortable every day.
Stringers, treads and railing
A staircase is stringers (one central or two side), treads and a railing. Stringers are cut and welded in the workshop where angles and straightness are controlled. Treads suit the location: grating or perforated outdoors (no standing water, no slipping), timber indoors, or prepared for stone cladding.
Outdoor stairs by the sea
Outdoor stairs face sun and rain all year, so we make them from galvanised and painted steel with grating treads and a stainless handrail where it is gripped.

There's no single price per metre that fits every site. Our quotes are itemised so you can see what you pay for.

How much does a steel staircase cost?
It depends on shape, height, treads and railing. Send a photo of the opening and the floor height for a ballpark; the final price follows measuring. See Metalwork prices.
How much space does a spiral staircase need?
It depends on the diameter; for comfortable use the opening should be a little larger than the stair diameter.
Do you measure on site?
For stairs — always. We never start fabrication without site measurements.
